Profile

Major General Emmanuel Boman Kabuk (rtd) was born in Jema’a LGA in Kaduna State. He attended the Nigerian Military School Zaria, set 1978/1983. He is a member of 35 Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy. Maj Gen EB Kabuk (rtd) holds a Master of Arts Degree in International Peace Studies from the United Nations Mandated University for Peace, Costa Rica (2009/2010). He is a fellow of the National Defence College Abuja. He obtained an MSc in Strategic Studies from the University of Ibadan (2011/2012), and holds a Post Graduate Diploma Degree in Conflict Management and Peace Studies from the University of Jos (2006/2007). He obtained Graduate Diploma in Telecommunications and Electronic Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (1992). He attended the Junior and Senior Division Staff Courses at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji-Kaduna, and the Senior Executives Course in National and International Security in Harvard Kennedy School, Massachusetts USA (2016).

 

On military command and staff appointments, General Kabuk was the General Officer Commanding 82 Division of the Nigerian Army and Chief of Logistics of the Nigerian Army (2018). He was Deputy Chief of Policy and Plans, Director Policy and Director Staff Duties at the Nigerian Army Headquarters. He was Deputy Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Signals and Directing Staff at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji-Kaduna. He was also Assistant Director Information Technology at the Defence Headquarters, Acting Commander 53 Signals Brigade Jos and Commander 52 Signals Brigade Ibadan. He was the Commanding Officer 530 Signals Regiment and Adjutant 520 Signals Regiment amongst many other appointments.

 

General Kabuk attended many military courses and participated in numerous national and international operations. He served in the Nigerian Army for 34 years 11 months and was decorated with many military honours and awards. He voluntarily retired from the Nigerian Army on 18 December 2018.

 

He was an External Examiner at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies Kuru for Senior Executive Courses 41 and 42, and a lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences, Department of Political Science, Kaduna State University (2019/2020). Maj Gen EB Kabuk (rtd) was appointed as Member of the Directing Staff in NIPSS on February 1, 2021. He is married to Mrs Talatu Emmanuel Kabuk and the marriage is blessed with three children - Joy, Patience and Faithful.
