INTRODUCTION

The Centre for Social Research and Leadership Development (CSRLD) is an independent, not-for-profit, interdisciplinary research and policy think-tank aimed at fostering innovative ways of understanding and managing social processes, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of social systems, responding to social problems, and strengthening social resilience.

 

The centre emphasizes the relationship between research evidence, effective leadership, and the sustainable management of social processes. Hence, it serves as an incubator for social innovators and a new generation of African leaders who have the vision, passion, courage, and capacity to manage social processes efficiently and solve pressing problems in a sustainable manner.

OBJECTIVES

  • To monitor the impact of social processes/events on social cohesion.

  • To promote social research as a tool for finding novel, socially valuable, context-sensitive, transformative, and sustainable solutions to social problems.

  • To mentor emerging social innovators and enhance collaboration amongst them.

  • To identify, nurture, and support young people who demonstrate leadership potential and the capacity to drive positive change in their communities.

  • To strengthen the leadership skills of people already in leadership positions and to enhance their capacity to provide effective leadership in a fast changing world.​

  • To enhance the capacity of citizens, organizations, and governments to manage social processes efficiently.
